It’s back. By popular demand and after extensive press coverage in Bike magazine, the Moffat One Shot returns – courtesy of the brilliant Beef Tub Bikers. Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success and this year’s is set to be bigger and better, virtually taking over the whole high street in Moffat.

WHAT IS IT?

It’s a photo competition with a difference – and free to enter. A photo shoot of you and your motorcycle. But not just any old photo shoot. This is a unique opportunity to have you and your bike professionally photographed by Jonathan Cosens Photography no less. But it’s not about the most expensive bike, or the flashiest, or the best custom job. It’s about capturing the character of you and your bike. Here’s one we created last year (below).

Double act: the Queensberry House hosts come along for the ride

This year, Jonathan (also a Beef Tub Biker) brings his studio – and his creative magic – outdoors again, this time in front of the iconic Moffat Ram on the high street. Fellow Beef Tub Biker, Andy Tunnicliffe, says, ‘Last year we met some great people so we are excited to be able to bring the Moffat One Shot back again.’

STRIKE YOUR POSE

You get one shot. Not quite ready? Eyes closed? Hair and makeup van not arrived? Sorry that’s the rule! But don’t worry Jonathan will make you look amazing. Ten selected finalists will each win a copy of JG Fergusson’s book The Motorcyclist’s Guide to Scotland, a vital resource for exploring this spectacular landscape. The overall winners will receive a framed print of their picture. The ultimate winner will also receive a bottle of Moffat’s own whiskey The Moffat.

ATTEND THE AWARDS CEREMONY

The winners will be announced at a special awards presentation at the Annandale Arms in Moffat on 15 June. Last year’s winner was Natasha Moss and her Honda NC35: ‘I got my NC35 when I was 17 – before I even passed my test.’ But even if you’re not a lucky winner, you can still buy your one-off print (framed or unframed) from Jonathan Cosens Photography which will be a fabulous focal point – and talking point – in your home.
