A little bit about us…

We are Caroline and Miles, the proud owners of Queensberry House and your hosts during your stay.

We have been welcoming guests to Queensberry House for ten years – and we absolutely love what we do.

We thought running a bed and breakfast might be a fun job – and it is – and that we’d meet interesting people – and we have.

Caroline was a travel journalist in a previous life and spent time reviewing hotels around the globe. She has picked up a few useful tips along the way, from the right bedside lighting to the best bed linen and breakfast cutlery.

Miles was once a builder and his maintenance skills are a useful asset. He is also the king of the kitchen and has poached so many eggs he thinks he’s got it, ahem, cracked!

We are very much part of the community. We play a pivotal role in Moffat’s walking festival as well as the town’s community woodland – a rich green space – and regularly help out on volunteer days.

One of the things we love about Moffat is getting out and about, walking and taking in the breathtaking scenery that’s all around.

Most of all we love welcoming guests to Queensberry House and really showing them what Moffat and the wider area of Dumfries and Galloway has to offer.

If you have any questions about staying at Queensberry House, or Moffat, or exploring the area, please get in touch. We are here to help.

"Queensberry House looked perfect and on arrival we knew we had made the right choice. Our room was lovely: amazingly comfortable bed, excellent quality bedding and a great ensuite. Caroline and Miles provide a warm welcome, comfortable rooms and smashing food. Miles makes a fantastic breakfast. The range covers all tastes – simply delicious."

The room and food were exceptional

"I've honestly never been more impressed and delighted with a B&B or hotel than I was with Queensberry House. Miles and Caroline were the perfect hosts – genial and welcoming. My wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our stay in comfort, and the location was a few minutes walk from the centre of Moffat. Looking forward to a return visit."

Everything was just perfect

"Caroline and Miles run a first-class venue – crisp clean sheets, lovely room, delicious breakfast and a prepack of interesting places to visit. Their hospitality on top of everything else made for a splendid break."
